Studying abroad in Dublin, Ireland changed my life forever.
Although I first struggled adjusting to my new culture thousands of miles away from home, I soon grew to love the Irish capital city. Like many study abroad programs, my adventure abroad featured memorable courses and exciting excursions like touring the National Museum of Ireland with my social geography class and taking a ferry to the island of Inishmore to bike along its gorgeous landscape.
Along with memorable courses and trips, I had the amazing opportunity to intern as a reporter for Hot Press Magazine, Ireland’s premiere entertainment publication. I got to cover up-and-coming Irish musicians, Ireland’s housing crisis and the 2023 Academy Awards, as well as review concerts of global superstars Lewis Capaldi and Lizzo. My exciting life studying and interning in Dublin gifted me with a tremendous level of cultural competency that I never imagined I’d gain in my life.
On a more personal note, studying abroad in Dublin was incredibly life-affirming. My former romantic partner passed away a couple months before I left for Ireland where I had the privilege of spreading some of their ashes at the stunning Cliffs of Moher. That day will forever be one of my most precious memories and I could not have had that profound sense of closure if I hadn’t studied abroad.
I sincerely hope studying abroad changes your life too.
