The University at Albany, SUNY continues to monitor and assess the COVID-19 Novel Corona Virus pandemic. All Winter 2020-21 and Spring 2021 education abroad programs worldwide are suspended. While there are no definite answers on when education abroad programming will resume, programs abroad are not expected to all re-open at the same time. Instead, when education abroad relaunches only a limited number of programs and destinations will be available, evaluated based on global travel conditions, health and safety guidelines, SUNY System Administration re-opening protocols, and UAlbany priorities. The process of review and approval to re-open programs and destinations will be ongoing. Students participating on programs administered by 4-year SUNY campuses remain registered at UAlbany and earn Albany credits automatically. Students participating on SUNY Community and Technology College programs will be earning credits that must be accepted for transfer by UAlbany. You might wish to examine options available to you through SUNY 4-year schools before agreeing to participate on a SUNY CC or IT program.
With proper approvals, credits earned while studying abroad may be counted toward your major, minor, or general education requirements in addition to counting toward the 120 credits required for graduation. However, transfer credits do not satisfy any of UAlbany's requirements for credits earned "in residence".
UALbany hosts a general orientation session prior to your departure, and we are available to assist you at all times. Program-specific questions should be answered by the administering campus and the staff at your overseas site.

You will pay tuition as directed by the administering SUNY campus. All other expenses will be paid either to the school which is administering your program or to the provider of the services you are purchasing.
