Hallym International School (HIS), a division of the Institute of Global Education (IGE), was established to promote an international community at Hallym University. The Korean Language Education Center (KLEC) was established in August 2004, under the support of the Institute of Global Education to teach Korean language and culture to international students from around the world. KLEC has various Korean language programs designed to improve communicative competence and performance. All teachers at KLEC have completed a training program in teaching Korean as second language, and are well- versed in Korean grammar, language acquisition theory, and Korean language teaching methodology.
