Housing

The University of Haifa provides dormitory housing. You may also make your own off campus housing arrangements.

Individual dormitory suites may house both Israeli and or/international students. All apartments in the dormitories are single-sex.

Each room includes a single bed, desk, closet, and shelves. You will also be provided with a hotplate and a refrigerator. You must bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows, towels, and other linens needed for your room. You can also purchase these items upon arrival.

There is a self-service laundry room and a grocery store in the dormitory complex. All public spaces in the dormitories have Wifi connections. There is also a “moadon” or “club” with a big-screen TV which often hosts parties, workshops, lectures, and other activities.

Federman Dorms

These modest apartments have three double occupancy rooms and a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living space.

Talia Dorms

These spacious apartments have six single occupancy rooms, each room with its own bathroom, and a shared kitchen and living space.

*During the summer programs, the single rooms fill up quickly, so the Talia dormitories will be accommodated on a first come, first serve basis.

Meals

There is no meal plan for this program. However, you will have access to numerous cafes and restaurants both on and off-campus. You may also cook your own meals. There are several grocery stores and markets conveniently located near campus.

In Their Own Words

“I would definitely recommend this program to any students interested in learning Arabic. I learned more vocabulary in this month than I did in any of my other Arabic courses. It was amazing. They brought us on tons of trips, immersed into the language and I was roomed with Arab students whose mother tongue was Arabic. I am more than satisfied with it and it was an absolutely wonderful experience.”

-Jessika Ball, Political Science/CEHC Cybersecurity Major
